Office of the Archbishop
Archbishop as Patron
An important part of the Archbishop's engagements relates to his relationship as patron or president to over 100 organisations.
In addition to national charities and institutions, Dr. Sentamu has a wide range of interests that include criminal and social justice, family and young people.
Working with organisations as Patron, the Archbishop is able to support and to help profile the work and celebrate the achievements.
The patronages that have been selected are a reflection of the Archbishop's Christian interests in education, justice, democracy, law and order, health and well being, and sport.
An active link is maintained between the Archbishop's office and his patronage organisations.
During the course of a year, the Archbishop will undertake a number of engagements directly related to this area of his work, so that he has an opportunity to meet the people directly involved. Visit the news release section for more information.
The list of the Archbishop's current patronage's (as of 2006) is viewable as a link from this page. As the present list is extensive and in view of the Archbishop's working diary, he will not be taking on any additional patronage roles for the foreseeable future, save in the most exceptional circumstances.
